Our M4P Bolt Carrier Group incorporates the best of
what a quality Mil-Spec BCG has to offer with a suite of upgrades and modern
touches like a hard chrome plating, OCKS gas key fasteners, and individual QC
markings to make it more dependable and durable as well as easier to maintain.
Starting with a full mass, M16-profile carrier, you won't
have to suffer through any additional tuning wizardry to make your rifle work.
The extruded 4130 gas key is affixed to the carrier with Grade-8 OCKS fasteners
from Michiguns, sealed using Permatex Form-A-Gasket #3, and hydraulically staked to
ensure that it’s not going anywhere. Our cam pin is machined from 4340 alloy
and marked with a “FORWARD” directional indicator for consistent installation
so that the wear remains consistent after cleanings to improve longevity. The
firing pin is machined from 8740 alloy, properly-heated treated so it doesn’t
snap at an inopportune time, and hard-chrome plated to float smoothly in the
assembly.
Moving to the star of the show, the bolt head is machined
from Mil-Spec Carpenter No. 158 alloy, shot-peened, and individually High
Pressure Tested (HPT) and Magnetic Particle Inspected (MPI). It is also marked
with a traceable lot and bolt number, which you can use to easily track age and
usage in your inventory. The extractor claw is precision machined from
cold-drawn 4340 steel and features a Sprinco® XP-5 enhanced spring with
a CRANE-spec rubber insert. The S7 tool steel ejector is likewise under the
tension of a Sprinco® enhanced ejector spring. Both springs in the assembly are
made from Chrome Silicon wire stock that is heat treated, stress relieved, and
cryogenically processed after winding. Compared to your standard,
run-of-the-mill springs, these will have significantly improved duty cycles
while meeting required performance metrics.
The carrier body, gas key, bolt head, and ejector are all coated
in a durable hard chrome plating that will not flake or crack like some subpar
coatings while maintaining exceptional base lubricity in the absence of additional
lubricants. The extractor retains the Mil-Spec Manganese Phosphate to prevent
slips off of the case rim.
Each BCG is individually flow tested after assembly to
ensure proper function and gas efficiency. The M4P BCG also carries with it our
FYS Limited Lifetime Guarantee, which protects you from any issues that could
arise from material quality or improper assembly. As an added bonus, bolt head,
extractor, firing pin, and cam pin are independently subject to one warranty
replacement on account of wear, so you can rack up the round count without
having to worry about losing out on replacement costs for a long, long time.
