THE FLAGSHIP.
The DISSIDENT™ is our
flagship model. It separates itself from other rifles in the market with
included features and options like a suite of ambidextrous controls,
customer-choice Cerakote® H-Series
finish, and a variety of bolt-on additions to suite this factory rifle to your
personal tastes. Like all our rifles, each one is assembled by one pair of
hands from start to finish, so the buck stops at the work bench, not a pencil
pusher's desk. In today's highly competitive field of quality offerings, we sought to set the DISSIDENT™ apart with by combining the
performance of premium components and the hand-crafted attention to detail you
would expect of a top-tier rifle while keeping it accessible to a wide audience
of discerning shooters.
BUILT RIGHT.
Our firearms are all hand assembled to our
exacting quality standards with components that are 100% made in the USA. Each
upper assembly of our rifles starts with a 7075-T6 forged receiver a lapped
face that houses a button-rifled 4150 CMV, 1:7 twist, stress-relieved, and QPQ Nitride treated Modern Series barrel from Ballistic Advantage. Each barrel is mated with a bolt after
proper head spacing. To ensure reliable feeding, both feed ramps of the barrel
extension are ground and polished to match those of the upper receiver before
final assembly. After the barrel is fitted and torqued in place with a steel
barrel nut, the low-profile gas block is indexed on the barrel with recessed
dimples on the face of the barrel journal for both mounting screws,
which are torqued into place. As an extra bit of insurance under hard use,
the gas block and barrel are cross-drilled and pinned with a high-strength
stainless steel roll pin. At the business end of the barrel is either the classic A2 flash hider or your chosen suppressor host. Suppressor hosts are timed with flat shims and installed with Rocksett high-temp adhesive to keep them locked in place.³
Moving back to the heart of
the action is the Bolt Carrier Group. Our BCG starts with of a carrier turned
from 8620 bar stock, which is heat treated and precision ground before
receiving a smooth nitride plating by H&M in Akron, Ohio for lubricity,
durability, and corrosion resistance. The bolt body is machined from 9310
steel, properly heat treated, magnetic particle inspected, and shot peened
before receiving the same nitride finish as the carrier. It's 4140 steel cam
pin is nitride plated for improved lubricity and service life. Inside, you will
find a firing pin that is precision machined from 17-4 H-900 Stainless Steel,
which is more durable than traditional alloys and a S7 tool steel extractor being pushed by a Sprinco® Enhanced Extractor Spring. The phosphate-coated
extractor is machined from solid 4140 bar stock, shot-peened for strength, and
ships from our shop with an upgraded Sprinco® XP-5 5-Coil Extractor spring and rubber spring insert for strong, positive extraction. On top, the gas key is machined from 4140 pre-hardened bar stock and secured
with Grade 8 hardened fasteners and staked in place.4
On the bottom half of the
assembly in the lower, the receiver is machined to military specification from
quality 7075-T6 forgings with the addition of the channel for the integral
right side bolt release that gives right-handed shooters the option to drop the
bolt with their trigger finger or left-handed shooters the ability to use a
more traditional thumb press. The receiver extension assembly is indexed in the
receiver and the steel QD endplate is staked to keep the castle nut in place
before the H1 buffer and Sprinco® "Blue" Buffer Spring are seated in the tube. All
roll pins are drifted in place properly to prevent snagging or walking.
Controlling the system is an
excellent set of components that make major improvements over their mil-spec
counterparts. Both NiB-coated trigger options
utilize tried-and-true materials and full-strength springs to ensure reliable
primer strikes. The Schmid 2-stage option translates the "creep"
found in a regular GI trigger into a smooth 2-lbs initial take-up stage that
gives way to a lightened 2.5-lbs final let off with a tactile reset. The smooth
coating, light pull, and improved feel serve as a dramatic improvement over a
typical "Mil-Spec" trigger. The ALG® Advanced Combat Trigger delivers
a familiar single-stage break with a dramatic reduction in grit and a 5.5-lbs
pull that is compliant with the minimum weight standards of many professional
forces across the country. The lower receiver also features a complete set
of ambidextrous controls: a full-length selector on either side, integral right
side bolt release, and an optional Forward Controls Design EMR-A ambidextrous magazine
release that can be included for an additional charge. Up top running the bolt
is an ambidextrous Radian™ Raptor™ charging handle. Finally, each rifle ships with your choice
from our options of Cerakote® finishes or standard type III anodized hard coat
and your selected kit additions pre-installed to make it your own.
As with all our firearms, every component is inspected and assembled per procedure before the complete firearm is test fired with live ammunition. It is our guarantee that they walk as well as they talk. So, should you encounter any issues arising from component selection or assembly error, we will fix it under the provisions of our "FYS" Limited Lifetime Guarantee. The upper receiver, barrel, and bolt head are all individually engraved with matching numbers noted on a certificate of authenticity that ships with your rifle for QC during the assembly process and down the line should you need work done on your rifle.
