RETROMOD.
The FIXIE™ is packed with useful modern features with a classic flair. Finally, you can capitalize on the character of the vaunted Front Sight Base without giving up modern features that users have come to expect in today's defensive carbine: a free-floated M-LOK® rail, smooth selection of triggers, and a suite of ambidextrous controls. Available with a standard 16", this rifle really shines as a dependable, lightweight "field rifle" in one of the available pin/weld configurations.
YOUNG AT HEART.
Despite it's retro aesthetic, the FIXIE™ shares all of the quality internal components and finish work that you have come to expect from our rifles. On the outside is your choice of Magpul®, BCM®, or B5 Systems furniture, an optimally-flared FCD trigger guard, Schmid Tool ambidextrous selector, and an ambidextrous Radian Raptor® charging handle. The drop-in clamshell handguard that is typically found with a front sight base has also been swapped for a two-piece free-float M-LOK® from Midwest Industries® that shrouds the gas block to help prevent deflection when bracing against a barricade, rock, or other surface for stability. On the inside is our standard bolt carrier group with a 9310 MPI bolt, billet extractor, and upgraded Sprinco® extractor and ejector springs that is paired with the same Ballistic Advantage® Modern Series barrel found in the J.O.E.™ and DISSIDENT™ rifles.
BUILT RIGHT.
Our firearms are all hand assembled to our exacting quality standards with components that are 100% made in the USA. Each upper assembly of our rifles starts with a 7075-T6 forged receiver a lapped face that houses a 1:7T, stress-relieved, button-rifled 4150 CMV nitride barrel from Ballistic Advantage®. Barrels are individually paired with a bolt after proper head spacing. To ensure reliable feeding, both feed ramps of the barrel extension are ground and polished to match those of the upper receiver before final assembly. After the barrel is fitted and torqued down with a properly-timed mil-spec barrel nut, the two-piece rail is aligned to ensure no load is being applied to the barrel. At the muzzle, your chosen muzzle device is torqued and timed to proper specification; the default A2 compensator is installed with a crush washer while suppressor hosts are timed with flat shims and treated with Rocksett high-temp adhesive to keep them locked in place. ²
Finishing the upper assembly, the bolt carrier group is the heart of any rifle. Our group starts with of a carrier turned from 8620 bar stock, which is heat treated and precision ground before receiving a smooth nitride plating by H&M in Akron, Ohio for lubricity, durability, and corrosion resistance. The bolt body is machined from 9310 steel, properly heat treated, magnetic particle inspected, and shot peened before receiving the same nitride finish as the carrier. It's 4140 steel cam pin is nitride plated for improved lubricity and service life. Inside, you will find a firing pin that is precision machined from 17-4 H-900 Stainless Steel, which is more durable than traditional alloys. The phosphate-coated extractor is machined from solid 4140 bar stock, shot-peened for strength, and ships from our shop with a 5-coil enhanced power extractor spring from Sprinco®. On top, the gas key is machined from 4140 pre-hardened bar stock and secured with Grade 8 hardened fasteners that are deeply staked. ³
The forged 7075-T6 Aluminum lower receiver is machined to military specifications save for the inclusion of the integral right side bolt release that gives right-handed shooters the option to drop the bolt with their trigger finger or left-handed shooters the ability to use a more traditional thumb press. In either case, it gives the shooter an additional option to send the bolt home in obtuse shooting positions. The receiver extension assembly is indexed in the receiver and the steel QD endplate is staked to keep the castle nut in place before the H1 buffer and tuned Sprinco® buffer spring are seated in the tube. All roll pins are drifted in place properly to prevent snagging or walking. Both the upper and lower receivers have their takedown/pivot pin holes individually reamed for a consistent fit before a light amount of tension is applied with a screw at the rear of the lower.
Finally, each rifle ships with your choice from our options of Cerakote® finishes or standard type-III anodized hard coat and your selected kit additions pre-installed to make it your own.
As with all our firearms, every component is inspected and assembled per procedure before the complete firearm is test fired with live ammunition. It is our guarantee that they walk as well as they talk. So, should you encounter any issues arising from component selection or assembly error, we will fix it under the provisions of our "FYS" Limited Lifetime Guarantee. The upper receiver, barrel, and bolt head are all individually engraved with matching numbers noted on a certificate of authenticity that ships with your rifle for QC during the assembly process and down the line should you need work done on your rifle.
